The Afrikaans Language Monument appears on the cover of the latest edition of ‘Muratho’, the journal of the South African Translators Institute (SATI). The edition is largely devoted to Afrikaans’s origins, literary issues, the language monument and museum as well as the growth of the Afrikaans media. Language guides such as ‘Afrikaansgids’ and ‘Norme vir Afrikaans’ are also discussed. ‘Muratho’ (meaning ‘bridge’ in Venda) is available here. SATI is a professional association for language practice professionals in South Africa. Membership is open to all translators, interpreters, editors, proofreaders, text reviewers, terminologists, copywriters and anyone else involved in the language practice industry. www.translators.org.za
